An Alternative Lent: Self-Care Rituals to Take Up

An Alternative Lent: Self-Care Rituals to Take Up

Most people end up denying themselves some kind of food, but in all honesty I don’t think I’m really improving anybodies life if I cut out one of my favourites; a Beth without chocolate, cheese, coffee and wine is not a happy one. Instead, this Lent I am focussing on taking up something new focussed around the idea of self-care because we definitely all need more of that in our lives.

Get Blown Away at Duck & Dry

Get Blown Away at Duck & Dry

I’ve never been one to bother too much with my hair, in fact when getting ready for a night out it’s usually the thing that I often fret over a bit, give up and attack quickly with the GHD’s. Usually for me, a blow dry is something that consists of a quick blast with a hair dryer when I finish at the gym so I don’t turn into Elsa from Frozen on the way home. Go Bananas for Brunch at Timmy Green, Victoria, SW1

I was invited to dine with compliments from the Daisy Green Collection. All views and imagery are my own.

It’s not a big deal; we all need one now and then and I think I was due a good stressing out session (earlier in the week I had yelled at my hair straighteners for not heating up fast enough, so that says it all really).

Emilia’s Crafted Pasta Moors at St. Kat’s Docks, E1

Emilia’s Crafted Pasta Moors at St. Kat’s Docks, E1

Pasta has long been a favourite amongst households country wide, and yet it is rarely ever star of the show. Even in the nicest of restaurants it can often appear as somewhat of an after thought on a menu, lacking in both imagination and love. Not at Emilia’s; the 35 cover restaurant which opened last month in the tranquil setting of St. Katharine’s Dockyard is a testimony to this humble Italian staple.
