Whilst blogging as a concept has been around for a while now, the rise of social media influencers is still a relatively new phenomenon. More and more talented individuals are turning their online passion into a career path and it’s truly empowering to witness. As a growing industry, however, it’s still shrouded in a lot of misconception ~ I promise you we don’t just spend all day chilling on our marble-covered laptops playing with freebies and posing for our Olympus Pens (alright, alright – there might be a bit of posing).

There are a lot of perks to working from home. Not only do you get to set your own hours, make time for a cheeky bit of Holly and Phil in the morning and wear baggy t-shirts, you also have nobody keeping an eye on you or dictating your work schedule. It can, however be quite isolating and at times I realise that I haven’t actually left the house in several days, aside from the odd trip to Tesco or the gym.

‘Flat laying’ is common vocabulary in the bloggers dictionary. Creating a flat lay image is a great way to display products and tell a story all at once, but getting it right isn’t as easy as just throwing together a handful of random items, sticking on a VSCO filter and hoping for the best.
