The problem with Instagram – and any form of social media – is that it is a highlights reel. I want to shout that from the rooftops on a daily basis “INSTAGRAM IS A HIGHLIGHTS REEL!” and in my own little way I try to, without actually pissing off the neighbours.

I’ve got a love hate relationship with bedtime, and with sleep in general. I am an absolute afternoon nap queen, in fact I could probably go back to bed for a cheeky 2 hour kip by 9am most days, but when it comes to getting my solid 8 hours – and in reality I probably need longer – at night my brain switches to overdrive.

The Côte d’Azur, the Mediterranean coast of southwestern France, is one of Europe’s greatest gems. The best way to see the French Riviera is by car, not least for the beauty of the ability to make unexpected stop offs and discover villages off of the beaten track en route, and Hertz were kind (or mad?) enough to let me loose on the roads in a large Toyota. 14,000km, 9 cities, an aqueduct, a vineyard, 2.5 tanks of diesel and a flock of flamingos later and I’m here to tell the tale…
