Why I Nearly Dropped Out of My Dream University and How I Rediscovered My Self-Belief

Why I Nearly Dropped Out of My Dream University and How I Rediscovered My Self-Belief

I feel as though this post should come with a bit of a warning. It’s about 90% word dump and 10% structure. I’m not really sure what the topic is, or what the theme is, or what I hope to achieve with writing it other than sharing a little more of my story with you. I began to write about my recently renewed sense of self-belief and confidence in my own future but it prompted me to reflect on what caused me to lose it in the first place.

4 Tips & Tricks Every Instagrammer Needs to Know to Up Their Game

I try not to get too bogged down with worrying about the nitty gritty of the ‘gram. Trying to stick to a strict theme is not only restrictive but also repressing of your creativity, however if you’re a bit of a perfectionist like me then there is a temptation to agonise over ensuring those little squares all slot together like a very sexy game of Jenga. There are a few apps (or tricks!) I use to make life easier for myself, making more time for naps and Gilmore Girls.

10 Free Things to Do in Los Angeles

10 Free Things to Do in Los Angeles

Los Angeles is the kind of city where you can do pretty much anything your heart desires. You want to eat shaved ice (a concept I will ~ never ~ understand) at 3am? Sure! Take your dog for a mani-pedi? You got it! Sip $30 smoothies surrounded by celebs at the Beverly Hills Hotel? Just call the concierge dahhhling. However there is so much more to this SoCal city that doesn’t involve a single swipe of your credit card…

10 Things That Bloggers Want You to Know

Whilst blogging as a concept has been around for a while now, the rise of social media influencers is still a relatively new phenomenon. More and more talented individuals are turning their online passion into a career path and it’s truly empowering to witness. As a growing industry, however, it’s still shrouded in a lot of misconception ~ I promise you we don’t just spend all day chilling on our marble-covered laptops playing with freebies and posing for our Olympus Pens (alright, alright – there might be a bit of posing).

25 Ways to Make the Most Out of Your Day at Disneyland Resort California

25 Ways to Make the Most Out of Your Day at Disneyland Resort California

Disneyland isn’t often the first thing that springs to mind when you envisage your trip to California, so you can imagine my absolute delight when I was busy Pinterest-planning our various Los Angeles adventures and stumbled upon a photo of that icon pink castle. When you hear Disney in the context of the USA, you immediately think of Orlando, but as it turns out Anaheim in California is home to the original Disneyland, making it an absolute must if you’re planning a holiday there.

My Skincare Routine

My Skincare Routine

Having a ‘skin routine’ is one of those things that lets me trick myself into believing that I’m a real life adult with my shit together. The reality is, those teenage days of a quick scrub with a baby wipe and maybe a scoop of my mum’s Clinique moisturiser if I was feeling fancy are gone and waking up with eyes glued together by BarryM (good times, good times) mascara just don’t cut it anymore.

Santa Monica & Venice: the Perfect Los Angeles Beach Day

Santa Monica & Venice: the Perfect Los Angeles Beach Day

One of Los Angeles’ most attractive features is the proximity (I do use this word lightly – nowhere in LA is quick to get to) of the city to sprawling California beaches. In the same day you can quite easily peruse the designer stores on Rodeo Drive or look for your favourite star on Hollywood Boulevard and then catch a wave on the Pacific Coast.

Santa Monica and Venice beaches are only a 30 minute walk from one another, connected by a boardwalk well beaten by cyclists, skaters and Cali surfer dudes dragging their boards behind them, though in reality each are very much their own separate worlds; one offering a cool coastal ‘lobster on the pier’ kind of vibe, the other selling medicinal marijuana and pet rocks.

The Importance of Getting Out the House When You Work From Home

The Importance of Getting Out the House When You Work From Home

There are a lot of perks to working from home. Not only do you get to set your own hours, make time for a cheeky bit of Holly and Phil in the morning and wear baggy t-shirts, you also have nobody keeping an eye on you or dictating your work schedule. It can, however be quite isolating and at times I realise that I haven’t actually left the house in several days, aside from the odd trip to Tesco or the gym.

A Wine Tasting Flight at Skylon on the Southbank with Truly Experiences

Floor to ceiling windows frame a Spring’s Friday afternoon on the Southbank, mirrored tables reflecting the decorative foliage, extravagant floral arrangements and 1950’s inspired copper birdcages. Skylon, on the first floor of the Royal Festival Hall, oozes Gatsby-esque decadence and a swoon-worthy Gin menu fused with modern high ceilings and crisp white walls.
